attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, the gallery and handles with turned spindles above a drawer, the underside with a later stencil : LESAGE/Rue Grange Baulieu/No 2/ A Paris
Condition
Very good overall condition. Small age crack to the top. Colour and patina very good.

Catalogue Note
The attribution to Gillows is based on the exceptional quality of construction and timbers apparent in the present example which is consistent with the output of the Lancastrian firm. The Gillows Estimate Sketch Books, ref. 3236 and 3408 also illustrate similar examples.
