Description
- Zitan wood
Condition
The table is very heavy. The top is composed of two panels of wood of different width. The wider panel shows a ca. 20cm long split extending from the edge along the length of the panel. The zitan wood of the table top is slightly faded and has a beautiful patina. The table top and sides are covered with a layer of shiny black lacquer on the underside. The four feet have been cut down in length and have been adapted to join the top at the four corners where there they have been stabilised with glue (traces) at a later date. Two of the carved spandrels have breaks to the design which have been glued back together. Legs cut down from a tall table. Otherwise fine condition, great colour and patina.
