Description

  • Pigments on silk

Condition

There are several horizontal cracks across the painting with associated loss of pigment, most notably across the upper part of the face and just below the neck. There are several smaller horizontal cracks and some vertical cracks scattered across the painting, particularly to the lower part along the rim. There are some areas where the pigment has worn away and has left the textile visible. The colours are more vibrant and the painting sharper than the catalogue illustration suggests.
