de forme octogonale à pans coupés, reposant sur un pied évasé à huit pans, le couvercle plat orné d'une dame de cour accompagnée de sa servante, chaque façette du couvercle agrémentée d'un cartouche polylobé abritant un immortel, ceux de la boîte contenant des fleurs et fruits se répétant autour du pied, deux caractères archaïsants dans un cartouche carré en nacre à la base, l'intérieur laqué noir (2)

Condition

Some areas of restoration to the brown lacquer ground mostly around the inlaid design on the top part ; some of the mother-of-pearl faces of the figures on the sides may have been replaced ; the interior of the box has been re-lacquered mostly to the top part.
