Condition
The humpback stretchers beneath the footrest at the front, the left and right side of both chairs are not original and later replacements. The stretchers at the front of both chairs set with quatrelobed supports are also not original and a later replacement. The chairs are wobbly, the joints loose. On one chair, one humpbacked stretcher is brocken, and one leg is broken and with old restoration just were the footrest joins the leg. The hardmat seats are later replacements and not original to the chairs.
The second chair shows restoration to the lower left hand leg. There are some areas of loss to the wood which have been filled in particularly around the joints and the back. The corners of the seat frame have been reinforced at a later stage with nails. Some of the support structures are loose.
There are several small filled-in areas and some areas of loss to the wood on both chairs.
