The left-hand panel in the catalogue illustration: The panel was examined out of the glass and frame. It is mounted on paper with a brocaded textile border. The paper is very dry and shows some areas of loss to the textile border and paper underneath. The panel shows some horizontal creases and folds particularly in the lower part of the panel. There is a ca. 9cm long crack with associated area of loss on the upper right hand side (visible in the catalogue illustration). Apart from these, the panel is in overall good condition. The colours are of a darker, richer tone than the catalogue illustration suggests with fine gold detailing. The textile very finely woven with painted details. The right-hand panel in the catalogue illustration: The panel was examined out of the glass and frame. It is mounted on paper with a brocaded textile border. The paper is very dry and shows some areas of loss to the textile border and paper underneath. The panel shows several horizontal cracks (two ca. 3 cm. long, one ca. 7cm long) going through the paper and textile. There are also some creases on the lower part of the panel where the textile has not been stretched properly on the paper mount. Apart from these, the panel is in overall good condition. The colours are of a darker, richer tone than the catalogue illustration suggests with fine gold detailing. The textile very finely woven with painted details.
