Condition
R.L. Hobson, L. Binyon and P. Yetts, The George Eumorfopoulos Collection, London, 1925-1932, 11 vols:
All eleven volumes are in very good overall general condition and some have retained their original slipcovers. The slipcovers are not in very good condition, they are torn along the folds and creased. The spines on all eleven volumes shows minor traces of wear and usage particularly to the upper and lower corners consistent with the age of the books. There is also very minor wear and a few small dents to the edges of the back and front cover. Inside the eleven volumes, there is no sign of water damage or stains, the pages are in almost pristine if a little dry condition, the colours of the plates fresh, with some of the dividing silk paper pages creased or folded. A Sotheby's sticker with the lot number 125/11 on several of the volumes indicates that they were sold at Sotheby's in the past.
National Palace Museum, Porcelain of the National Palace Museum, Hong Kong, 1962-1967, 33 vols:
All thirty-three volumes are in good overall condition and thirty-two volumes come with their original slipcovers. One of these cardboard slipcovers is torn along the folds, the others are in good overall condition. The paper slipcover on one volume is torn, the others are in good overall condition. All thirty-three volumes are in very good overall condition. There is almost no or very minor wear to covers and pages, there are no waterstains or damage due to humidity. The colour plates are fresh and the paper unsoiled.
The Illustrated Catalogue of Government Exhibits for the International Exhibition of Chinese Art in London, Shanghai, 1936, vols. 1, 2, 3 and 4:
All four volumes are in overall good condition. There is slight wear to the edges of the front and back hardcover where the paper underneath the blue textile cover shows. There is also some slight discolouration to the covers and back covers of all four volumes along the upper and lower edges. The binding is good, there are no tears or missing images.
The 600 plus additional reference books and catalogues are in overall good condition with little wear consistent with age.
