Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. Inventory number from the Krieg collection written in white at the bottom, inside the handle.

Voir Wassing (African Art, 1968, pl. 78) pour un insigne cérémoniel yo dommolo très comparable dans la collection de la famille Raymond E. Britt, évoquant, selon William Fagg (1968, n°4), la tête stylisée d'un cheval, et dont les "oreilles", comme ici, sont signifiées par deux personnages stylisés. Profonde patine sombre, croûteuse.
