Condition
In generale l'opera è in buone condizioni. Vi sono alcuni piccoli segni di usura in corrispondenza del margine superiore e destro. Sotto la lampada a raggi UV sono visibili alcune piccole riprese di colore verso il centro dell'opera in corrispondenza di due piccole craquelures consolidate, in prossimità degli angoli a sinistra e due puntiformi in prossimità del margine destro verso il basso.
Il colore bianco è più brillante rispetto all'illustrazione in catalogo.
The work is in generally good overall condition. There are some traces of wear by upper margin and right edge. Under the UV light are visible some threadlike retouchings towards the center of the work by the two small stable craquelures, by the upper left edges and two by the lower right margin. White is more brilliant compared to catalogue illustration.

"La tattica perseguita [da Schifano] è quella dell'azzeramento della dimensione spaziale alla semplice superficie bidimensionale del quadro, della sua riduzione a corpo liscio e speculare che accoglie ed espelle nello stesso tempo la sostanza pittorica. L'unica materia, infatti, è il colore, perché lo spazio è puro supporto ed occasione per l'estensione del colore. Così se la superficie del quadro indica lo spazio, il colore direttamente il tempo".
