Condition

Executed on cream laid paper with two 'B. F. Rives' watermarks, not laid down. The sheet is fixed to the mount along the edges, which are not deckled and appear to have been slightly trimmed. A close inspection reveals four evenly-spaced artist's pinholes relating to the execution of the original lithograph. There is a very faint water-stain visible in the lower left quadrant and a faint flattened crease running horizontally a third of the way down from the left and right edges. Apart from some light time-staining and two tiny spots of foxing, this work is in very good original condition. The pigments of the coloured crayons remain remarkably fresh.
