de forme rectangulaire en chêne gainé de parchemin, l'abattant, plaqué d' écaille de tortue et gainé de cuir fauve d'origine au revers, dégageant un intérieur en sycomore aménagés de six tiroirs, les boutons en ivoire, de part et d'autre d'une niche centrale ; ouvrant par deux tiroirs en façade et posant sur quatre pieds d'angles terminés par des sabots de bronze

Condition

Vellum exterior has been completely replaced but is in perfect condition. Interior leather writing surface is old and bears marks, scratches and stains commensurate with use. Sycamore interior again with knocks and some discoloration commensurate with age and use. Some natural cracks to the ivory drawer handles. Some slight marks to the drawer interiors. Tortoilshell effect is varnished and is some areas the color has worn off. In a raking light it is possible to see the contours of wood construction below. Le velin a ete completement remplace mais est en parfait etat. Le plateau en cuir a l'interieur est ancien et porte des marques, des rayures et des taches dues a l'usage. L'interieur en sycomore porte des traces de coups et des decolorations dues au temps et a l'usage. Des craquelures naturelles aux poignees en ivoire. Quelques legeres marques a l'interieur des tiroirs. L'ecaille de tortue est vernie et par endroits la couleur a eclairci. Les contours de la construction en bois sont visibles en dessous en lumiere rasante.
