Condition

Colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the blue is lighter, more brilliant and vivid in the original painting. The image does not convey the subtility of interplay of different layers of painting, typical of Hantai's pliages technique. The painting is in excellent condition.

Du 19 juin au 26 juillet 1969, majestueuse et monumentale, Etude (le présent lot) se déploie sur les murs de la Galerie Jean Fournier. « Le jour s’est déplié comme une nappe blanche ».
