Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is more vivid in the original, especially yellow and red/earth colours. The contrast is more important in the original. The catalogue illustration does not convey the texture and the impasto of the original work. The work is executed on its original canvas. Along the left edge of the work, a small loss of paint (approx. 1 cm) is visible under very close inspection. Under UV light, there is no evidence of any retouching. This work is in excellent condition.

Catalogue Note

(Edouard Glissant, in Miquel Barceló, Paris, 2007, p. 7)
