Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall red tonality is more vivid in the original. The image does not convey the glossy surface of the painting. Due to the artist's process, stapples holes are visible along the white and red stripes and fold marks are visible in the middle of the white stripes. Few very light flattened creases are visible under close inspection in the white stripes. Two more important creases are visible at 55 cm from the lower edge near the left edge (also visible in the catalogue illustration) and another located at 140 cm from the bottom edge and 25 cm from the left edge. One light scuff is located in the upper red band, visible under very close inspection. 6 pinhead sized holes are visible under very close inspection in the higher band likely due to a previous hanging. This work is in very good condition.
