Condition

in good condition. SURFACE: several losses from abrasion around the edges (one loss slightly smaller than a penny at the extreme left edge; one loss at lower right directly adjacent to artist's signature); an additional small loss at the juncture of the mast on the ship in the foreground; possibly a pentimento mirroring the diagonal line of the foremost sail at center. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET: no apparent inpainting.
