Description

  • clay
with concave base and globular body, finely painted in burnished orange and dark brown against a cream slip, with heartline deer enclosed by rectangular framing lines, one poised to consume a berry-laden branch, the other with its head turned, all enclosed by typical geometric motifs; attributed to Marie Iteye Rey/Juanico (b. about 1866-68).
