Condition

Good condition for an object of this type and age. Marks, nicks, scratches, abrasions and small chips to wood element. Dents, scratches, small splits, bending, and corrosion to metal consistent with age. Small crack at back proper right edge where metal plate is nailed. Round cavity of insect damage to wood at top of head just proper left of the center, not visible from the front. Area of insect damage to wood at top of reverse. Proper left eye with age cracks, and lacking top metal layer (as seen on proper right eye). Aged blackened wood patina on reverse. Surface of metal partially over-cleaned. Square metal sleeve embedded in base.
