Condition
Very good condition for objects of this type and age. Surfaces rubbed from a long period of ritual use. Pupils inlaid with lead. Rubbing and verdigris on wood where metal rings rest. Metal rings on proper right hand of each figure are made of different metal than the other brass rings, and have corroded. Vertical age crack to belly of the male figure with a small cavity of insect damage. Exceptionally fine glossy varied brown patina with remains of blue pigment in coiffures and crusty ritually-applied clay. White painted numbers underneath the male: "4971a" and female: "4971b".
