blue silk thread embroidered on linen. 
height 6 1/2 in.; length 133 in.
16.5 cm; 337.8 cm

Embellished with a decorative band of an elaborate scroll pattern. Embroidered with a lengthy Hebrew inscription indicating that this binder was the gift of Ricca, wife of Solomon Zoref, who donated it in honor of the Torah with the hope that God will grant her male children. Based on a pattern which was popular in the late sixteenth century.
