Description

  • Length: 60 inches
linen embroidered with silk thread cutwork edged in buttonhole stitch, embroidered in satin stitch and drawnwork.
height 61 in.; width 25 in.
154.9 cm; 63.5 cm

Embellished with openwork embroidery and inscribed in Hebrew with text from the Haggadah: Let all who are hungry come and eat; Let all who are needy come and celebrate Passover and the words Pesach, Matzah and Maror. The direction of the inscriptions indicates that it was likely to have hung over a rod and used as a towel or Passover decoration.

Several small fine stains. In overally fine condition.
