156 leaves, embellished with numerous gold and copper hand stamped decorative elements, three title pages with text illuminated in shell gold, wax seal of the society on the inside of the rear board. Contemporary mottled green calf binding paneled gilt, red leather lettering piece lettered gilt on upper board.
This Pinkas comprises the rules and regulations of a society that was established to fund the housing for impoverished Jews of Jerusalem. Member’s names are listed alphabetically and a separate section lists the names of 53 women. An inscription from 1889 notes that half of the collected funds will now be donated to members of the Suwalk-Lomza Kolel of Jerusalem.
