Description

multicolored silk embroidery on linen.

The first created for Isaac, son of Naftali, Hauf (?), born on Sunday 24 Sivan [5]642 (=11 June 1882). Inscribed in Hebrew with traditional blessings. Embellished with a fish, a symbol of fertility, the Tablets of the Law, Torah Scroll and a huppah.

The second created for Elijah (Charles Mayer), son of Joseph Aryeh Mayer, born on the Sabbath 7 Tevet [5]658 (=1 January 1898). Inscribed in Hebrew with traditional blessings. Embellished with images of a Torah and a huppah.

the first: Overall fine condition with a few minor stains. the second: Overall very good; very lightly stained.
