Description
- marked twice on body and twice on drip-basin. ZP conjoined G with fleur de lys between for public assayer Zuan Piero Grappiglia (Piero Pazzi 1992, no. 481) active 1758-1802. Canopy and drip-basin also with maker's mark ZF flower between twice, (cf. Piero Pazzi 1992 no. 463 or 464) all three parts with Venice San Marco mark several times, some of the chain links with Venice mark, some with maker's mark MPK and Venice mark for circa 1805.

of lobed and fluted baluster form, the ten-pointed star suspended from chains with shell and leaf terminals, matching drip basin engraved with a laver, all hung from a matching canopy by openwork links with metal rings, the lamp with contemporary Hebrew memorial inscription
Condition
Several minor dents, later suspension ring. Drip-basin with patch, leafy calyx inside drip-pan possibly later. Canopy with 5 drilled holes and soldered bar, probably from being wired for electricity at one point, otherwise good, handsome and generous form and lovely inscription
