Condition

The catalogue illustration is representative, though the colours are richer in reality and the painting less flat than it appears in the photo. The picture appears to be in very good condition, with no extant damage or loss of paint. The canvas has been lined, however the surface of the paint has not been abraded. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no apparent signs of recent restoration or retouching, and there is a slightly opaque varnish overall. Held in a gilt wood frame.
