  • 37cm. high, 47.5cm. wide on average; 14½in.,19in.
in their original black japanned frames

Condition

This charming group of paintings is in overall good restored condition and are ready to be placed. The black japanned frames are probably original and show in the back the original labels describing the birds and with dedication to different Irish noble patrons (Kildare, Hillsborough, Castlecomer, Carrick, Atrim, etc). The gilding decoration of frames has been refreshed. There are very small losses to paint and most of the plain cream grounds have been re-painted, although the paint of the birds seems to be all original and retain good colours. The painting with the whiter ground has had its ground repainted. One painting with a crease to the paper.
