Condition

Overall very good condition. The present configuration can be altered as desired owing to its modular design. The wood shelves throughout present with light surface scratches, nicks and dings consistent with age and gentle handling. With light surface dirt to the recessed areas of the design consistent with age. There is some slight variation to the coloration across the wood elements as seen in the catalogue illustration. The drop front component with fixed divided shelves has one area of enamel loss to the proper right lower drawer pull. The metal surfaces throughout the system with light surface scratches and scattered minute losses to the enameled metal consistent with age and use. The chromium-plated surfaces with some light rubbing, surface scratches and traces of adhesive residue throughout consistent with age and use. The desk component of the design is original to the piece. With some light surface scratches and nicks consistent with age and use. With one ½ inch square veneer loss to the proper left front corner of the desk top and with subsequent overpainted restoration to this loss. The desk lamp shade with one crack extending the length of the shade and another semicircular crack measuring approximately 1 x 1 ½ inches to the opposite side of the shade. A large scale example of the model that displays the firm’s penchant for planar surfaces, beautifully figured wood surfaces and pops of accent color in the vibrant orange shelf as seen in the catalogue illustration. This large scale shelving system can be dissembled for ease and safety of transport.
