Condition

Overall very good condition. Both chairs with scattered light surface scratches, nicks and dings consistent with age and gentle use. With two light surface scratches to the proper right of the seatback of one chair, measuring approximately 3 inches in length. With some evidence of light water damage to the second chair's seat. With white paint marks on the proper right of this chair seat. With one tight age crack measuring 3 ½ inch in length to the lower portion of the seatback that extends through the board to the reverse consistent with age. These two chairs represent an iconic design by Rietveld and are from an extraordinary collection owned by one of Rietveld's former employees, Jan van Beest who worked very closely with the artist during the peak of his career.
