Condition

Overall good condition. With scattered air bubbles and inclusions inherent in the making and with a few minor surface scratches throughout. The construction of the piece is from three distinct elements. The peacock element with minor areas of adhesive residue concentrated on the lower register of either side of the inverted U. This is likely due to the fact that the original notches that would have secured the peacock element in the fluted glass elements have been ground down, causing more surface contact. With one 1 inch abrasion at the top of the U on the proper right shoulder of the peacock element. With one very small and minor chip to the top edge of the crest of the inverted U peacock element. The fluted glass element is in overall good condition with some minor abrasions to the bottom edge adjacent to where the glass is placed on the marble base. With some minor scattered air bubbles throughout that are inherent in the making. The marble base is a later element and not original to the lamp. The base with surface scratches throughout the top surface, likely the result of contact with the fluted glass element. With two small and minor adhesive residue spots and one miniscule paint fleck to the top of the base. The underside of the base with some wear and surface scratches consistent with age and gentle use.The socket component is somewhat loose but remains secure in the base. With some gentle wear and losses to the base adjacent to the socket where the fluted glass element is inserted. The lamp is electrically stable and is presently fitted with contemporary US compatible plug. The quality of the molded and frosted glass presents a delicate composition of two peacocks in fine texture and detail.
