Condition

Overall in very good condition. When examined under black light there is no evidence of prior restoration. With a few surface imperfections to the glaze inherent in the making. The body of the vase with a few very minor surface scratches and with a drip mark (leaving surface residue) along the bottom third of the vase. Some of the raised edges along the body show a lighter application of the glaze, which is inherent in the design and beautifully accentuates the dimensionality of the raised sculptural elements. The fleur-de-lis ornamenting the flared rim are crisply modeled and present with significant sculptural depth. The vase interior below the flared rim is glazed in a rich deep dark brown. The interior of the vase with some light surface soiling. A beautiful example of this monumental form distinguished by its impressive scale, elegant silhouette and an exceptionally rich green glaze.
