Overall in very good condition. The favrile glass with a few occasional small and minor air bubble and particulate inclusions inherent in the making. The upper exterior register of the vase with minute scattered white paint specks, which are only visible under close inspection. The exterior of the vase with a few light surface scratches along the midsection of the body. A striking example distinguished by its exceptionally bold scale and highly unusual decorative scheme with reserved areas of Cypriote decoration. The vase was executed with a thick layer of green glass overlaid with Cypriote decoration, which is further overlaid with an outer layer of intensely iridized gold glass, which is further embellished with curvilinear highlights. The vase is visually striking in person, displaying strongly saturated luminous color in contrast to the tactile Cypriote decoration. The coloration of the vase is far more saturated with luminous hues than appears in the catalogue illustration, which is slightly over exposed and obscured with reflections.
