Studio Job at Cibone, Tokyo Design Week, Tokyo, Japan, November 2-6, 2005

Overall in excellent original condition. This work was acquired by the present owner following the Cibone exhibition. Please note that the work is executed in bronze and therefore quite heavy. With a few minor surface scratches and surface dirt to the recessed portions of the design. One of the bells with a small abraded area to the lower edge measuring one inch in length. The coloration to the lighting is achieved through a single colored red and blue bulb. The glass diffusing shade can be removed to change the bulbs and for shipment. Please note the measurements of this lot as it is large in scale. A wonderfully detailed work showing the design ideology of the Studio Job. Please note, this work is large scale wall-mounted lantern and has considerable weight. The piece was transported to Sotheby’s attached to temporary steel frame on castors. Sotheby’s has stored this work attached the travel frame and will release this frame to the buyers of this lot.

For their “Suite” designed in 2005 for display at Cibone in Tokyo, Studio Job filled the rooms with bold materials and pattern juxtapositions.   Their signature inlaid furniture designs where surrounded by vibrant patterned wallpaper and placed next to “Rock” chairs and paper armoires.  Lots 163, 165 and 166 lots were included in and acquired directly from this influential exhibition.
