Catalogue Note

The present lot is one of 69 unique tables created by Ron Arad for the Friedman Benda Gallery installation at Design Miami in 2005. “Paved with Good Intentions” included a number of tables on the ground contrasted by variants that curved and climbed the walls. Ron Arad introduced the mirror-polished tables as reflective devices in the Fondation Cartier commission. In 2005 he further expanded this installation concept to blanket the entire space with organically-shaped tables in order to reflect the nature and surroundings of the viewer on multiple planes.
