Condition
Each of the elements of the office offered in lots 129-132 have been gently used and carefully maintained. The top surface of the sideboard with surface scratches scattered throughout consistent with use. These scratches could be minimized should one desire with a gentle waxing of the surface. There are a few minor areas of discoloration, presenting light in color, the largest ½ inch in diameter to the front edge. The minor organic shaped discolorations in the front edge (measuring the largest ½ inch in length) are an inherent characteristic of the wood and not an issue of condition. the pandanus cloth with some minor losses to one door panel, consistent with handling, as seen in the alternative photographs on sothebys.com. The interior of the sideboard was fitted for specific file storage, at the request of the owner from Nakashima. Both the proper right and proper left compartments are each fitted with drawers for files. The center compartment of the interior is fitted with shelves. A wonderful shape and scale when viewed in person.
