Overall in fair condition. This lamp appears to have been heavily used and its current condition reflects that use. The shade element with significant dents throughout. The chromium-plated elements are dull in appearance and with scattered discolorations as result of the aging of the metal and surface dirt. The marble base is in good condition with a few minor edge chips. Sotheby's has not examined the lamp for electrical stability and does not guarantee its functionality. It appears that the base is lacking a cord guide which would hold the position of cord and therefore the shade at the opposite end. With this element lacking the electrical cord has been temporarily fixed to maintain its position and keep the shade taunt.
