each side set with a Bacchic male figure and joined by berried laurel garlands and raised on paw feet, one bronze has been removed to reveal the mark MB from the bronze master model

Condition

Overall in good condition and presentation. The marble surface with traces of dirt consistent with handling that can easily be cleaned. Minor scratches and nicks to surface consistent with age. the bronze with the usual tarnishing consistent with age and use, and black area in crevices, and extensive wear to gilding to high relief of the bronze mounts. Visible restored break to one side of the centerpiece; one can notice visible restored hairline cracks with infillers possibly contemporary to the manufacture of the centerpiece which could have occured while mounted the bronze to the marble; visible gray infillers to one side.
