Provenance

Christie's New York, The Forbes Magazine Collection of Orientalist Paintings, Drawings, Watercolors and Sculpture, October 14, 1993, lot 190 ($72,900)
A Distinguished Private Collector
Sold circa 2000 to the present owner

Condition

Overall in good original condition; with usual dirt to surface and especially to crevices; the cold-painted polychromy is original and present but note that there are some wear and chips to this cold-painted polychromy in a few places and especially to areas of high relief; it is a table lamp and the light and wiring have not been accessed and we would advise the buyer to rewire the lamp. The glass piece in the well has been cracked and is held together by tape.
