surmounted by a later white marble top above one long frieze drawer, the cupboard door opening to two shelves, the female caryatid has been removed to reveal the mark VP beneath a crown

Condition

Overall in fair condition with the usual tarnishing to bronze. As visible in the catalogue illustration, there are extensive scratches to ebonized wood as well as some loss to ebony. As visible in the catalogue illustration there is a loss to ebonized decor to proper right back side of cabinet,now showing bare wood. Overall the carcass with age and construction cracks visible. Extensive dirt to crevices of bronze. To each canted corner there were original ebony moldings in the shape of squares to the upper part of the cabinet beneath the marble; all are now lacking.
