Condition

This painting has not been lined, and there is an area of glued repair in the center of the canvas, evident on the reverse. Under UV, brush strokes of inpainting across the top of the composition fluoresce, and in a broadly brushed area above the large ruins to address a former tear and corresponding to the aforementioned repair. Small re-touches to the left of the large ruins and above the smaller columns fluoresce, and are somewhat visible to the naked eye.
