Catalogue Note
The first humans on the moon: vintage NASA photographs, including Buzz Aldrin on the moon by Neil Armstrong. This album presented to the Shah, by J.C. Keyes, Vice-President and General Manager of Philco-Ford. Philco was a division of Ford, who were the prime contractor for NASA's Mission Control Center (1965) and did other support work for NASA during the Gemini and Apollo space programmes. One photograph, presumably specially chosen for the recipient, shows the Earth from Apollo 11, with the Middle East and Persian Gulf in the centre.
