London: John Andrews, 1777 [but c.1785], large engraved wall-map on 20 sheets joined in four sections, dissected and backed on linen, totalling approximately 2345 x 2685 mm., contemporary outline colour, [this state not recorded in Howgego, but cf. 160, intermediate between (1) & (2)]

Catalogue Note

The second item is a seemingly unique assemblage presumably commissioned for a particular buyer; the twenty-sheet wall-map was multi-functional, in that the publishers could, by design, make up different, smaller maps, from the sheets, as here. The lower border of the map is squared-off with paste-over borders.
