Oblong folio (304 x 375mm.), 37 albumen prints (205 x 257mm., or the reverse), mounted on thick card recto and verso, tissue guards, contemporary black morocco-backed lacquer boards, upper cover with deep gilt inset with mounted high relief design of a hawk about to leap from a branch to attack a smaller bird, flat spine gilt, edges gilt, preserved in a fitted polished wooden hinged box with padded silk lining, a little light scattered spotting to mounts, upper cover relief damaged with loss of some onlay
