...My Dear Stokowsky, This afternoon you have vitriolized Franck's Symphony. Never in my long life I have heard such a brutal, bestial, ignoble, unmusical performance like yours - not even from you. The Divine Art of music too has its own gangsters like Hitler and Mussolini. Believe me, you are ready for mad-house or for jail. Hurry up!!!...Merci et encore merci, pour hier soir, et le "Sinfonietta". Tout était juste : tempi, nuances, etc...et l'acoustique de cette horrible salle n'a pas pu gâter votre superbe interpretation. J'etais très ému, et  plus qu'heureux! Merci...!...
