about Napoleon, Lesueur and Paër and the Imperial Chapel, seeking assurance about the robe he is required to wear there and about his conducting baton, which Lesueur promised him would be sorted out satisfactorily, explaining that he has been busy writing a heroic serious opera, the libretto by Vincenzo Monti, by command of the King [Joseph Bonaparte], to mark the arrival of Napoleon, and that he has not had the chance to write to the composer Paër, and mentioning other composers of the chapel, including Rigel and Persuis,
