Provenance
Acquired by the grandfather of the present owner, a diplomat in Istanbul, circa 1894; thence by descent
Condition
Both panels are flat and even. UV light reveals no signs of retouching to either painting. Apart from some light surface dirt, these works overall are in good original condition. As visible in the catalogue illustration, in one of the works there is a small 1.5 by 3cm area in the right of the signature where a sticker appears to have been removed, with some light associated paint loss.
Each held in a decorative dark-gold painted wood and plaster frame.
