The central plaque set with various cabochon gemstones possibly spelling out 'Reconnaisance', within a border of rose diamonds, the reverse inscribed 'Retabli par tes soins en 1825 le 23 d'avril', length approximately 230mm.
Condition
Set with various gemstones including emerald, sapphire and moonstone and various paste stones, possibly spelling out the word 'Reconnaissance'. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.00 - 1.20 carats, of various colours and clarities. Jewel terminating on either end with loops for jewel to be sown to clothing, clasp to side of jewelled panel allowing it to be opened. Central panel probably gold, unmarked, the mesh is not gold and could possibly be Pinchbeck. Some abrasions and slight discolouration to mount consistent with age and wear. Well articulated. In good condition. Inscribed to reverse "restored by your care on 23 April 1825"
