Gold and seed pearl mourning ring, circa 1815

Highlighted with seed pearls, later set with two polished garnets, the shoulders engraved with floral decorations, the underside partially inscribed 'Mary Rowley, Ob. 22 April, 1819', size M.

The garnets dark purple, typical inclusions visible under magnification, garnets possibly replacing glazed hair locket. Seed pearls mainly cream, some of grey, low to medium lustres. Metal with discolouration and abrasions consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
