Description

  • seed pearl, topaz, emerald, garnet, gold
Set at the centre with a foiled topaz within a border designed as two coiled snakes highlighted with graduated seed pearls and circular-cut foiled back garnets, later brooch fitting.

Condition

Bail possibly for original safety chain, safety chain now deficient. Foiled back topaz light orangy brown, abrasions to facet edges. Foiled back garnets medium to dark purplish red, typical inclusions visible under magnification, one stone chipped. Emeralds medium green, typical inclusions visible under magnification. Seed pearls of cream and grey body colours, low to medium lustre. Mount with abrasions consistent with age and wear. Later brooch fitting. In good condition.
