Natural pearl, enamel and gem-set pendant, Late 19th Century

Set with a bloodstone carved as a shell containing Poseidon, suspending a natural pearl, highlighted with enamel and rose diamonds, French assay and partial marks.

Accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 06272, stating the pearl was found to be natural, saltwater. Stamped with French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Partial maker's mark 'EM'. Natural pearl reddish purple medium lustre, grown marks, light orange and green overtones. Bloodstone showing typical flecks of red. Enamel brightly coloured, some losses in parts. Diamonds bright and lively. Abrasions to mount consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
