Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality of the background has more vibrant blue and ivory tones. Condition: There are stable fine crackelure in places throughout the background and there are stretcher marks parallel to all four edges. There is a layer of surface dirt and the varnish appears to have yellowed. There is a minute speck of paint loss beneath the left section of the top edge; a fine rub mark to the left of the figure and several other faint rub marks to the right side of the composition.
