Condition
This suite is in original condition. The wood is slightly redder than suggested by catalogue illustration. For the two armchairs, overall the stain on the wood is worn, joints are opening, and there are various marks, but this is commensurate with age and use. Upholstery too is showing signs of wear, with staining particularly to the seats and loss of pile overall. Webbing to the armchairs is torn and springs have been unleashed, this is true on both armchairs but worse on one. There are a couple of small losses to the carved flowerhead on the top of one armchair. There is some wear to the stain on the back of the sofa but the arms and carving have better colour presumably due to lighter wear. The upholstery on the sofa also with some marks and stains and general wear, particularly to the seat. There is an original paper label on one sofa leg `Meubles d'art Majorelle Paris Nancy Lyon'. Overall a good suite, which judicious restoration would improve greatly.
